International Joint Program

Introduced by the Australian Education & Management Consultants (AEMC) Group, CCNU signed a joint agreement with Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Australia to establish a joint undergraduate project on the 15th March 2011. In the same year, the Chinese Ministry of Education approved the Bachelor Degree project in Early Childhood Education Institute of Technology, Project Grant Number: MOE42AU2A20111161N. The first cohort of students for the project was enrolled in September 2012. The project is the first joint undergraduate project was in China between a Chinese university and an overseas university in Early Childhood Education. In addition, it is one of the twenty national excellent preschool teacher education reform projects and the only Chinese-foreign cooperation excellent teacher project in China.

The target of this project is to cultivate international talents with high qualities and interdisciplinary knowledge for early childhood education. High qualities cover many aspects, including advanced educational principles, respectable teaching moralities, deep devotion to the career, solid foundation in literature and science, comprehensive educational-competence, outstanding abilities in teaching and scientific research. Interdisciplinary knowledge emphasizes in the integration of caring and teaching, the employ ability in various fields domestically and overseas, and the combination of English proficiency and professional skills. Internationality, namely, is the cross-culture vision, the familiarity with international rules and regulations and the competitiveness in international affairs.

The Sino-Australia project for Early Childhood Education candidates adopts two parallel models. The first is the integrated "mono campus" model. During the four-year college life, students are required to take at least 10 courses given by professions from foreign universities, namely the "mono campus 4+0"model. The second consists of two stages, namely the "dual campus" model. In this model, students spend their first two years in the CCNU and the remaining two years in RMIT, which constitutes the"2+2"model. Students taking the "4+0-model” will graduate from CCNU with a undergraduate diploma and a bachelor's degree if they meet the standards for graduation and corresponding degree. Students taking the"2+2-model” will graduate with a undergraduate diploma and a bachelor's degree conferred by the CCNU, as well as the Bachelor of Education ( Early Childhood Education) from RMIT if they meet corresponding standards and requirements.
