Children's museum is a new type of out-of-school education space that has developed rapidly in China recently. Its free and open educational exploratory environment may be beneficial to the development of children's self-confidence. This study conducts a follow-up research on 175 Beijing children aged 4 for a two-semester period, using randomized intervention experimental method, questionnaire survey and observational method. The empirical results showed that regular visits to the children's museum can significantly improve children's self-confidence; parents also recognized the educational effect of the museum on self-confidence and rated the children's museum higher overall. Other factors that significantly influenced the level of self-confidence of young children included starting level of self-confidence, type of household registration, family background, and parenting style.
