In the digital era, it is essential to use artificial intelligence to drive educational innovation. However, as ChatGPT's popularity explodes, technocracy is spreading in the education sector, and there is an urgent need to do some comprehensive and calm thinking. As we can see, with the onslaught of ChatGPT's involvement, the education system has seen a series of changes, including a new definition of self-directed learning, new changes in teacher's instruction, new challenges in school curricula, and a new shift in talent development standards. It must be understood that while education can enjoy the technological dividends brought by ChatGPT, it also means that ChatGPT carries its own risks into the education feld, such as the risk of knowledge alienation, the risk of student subjectivity alienation, the risk of teaching process alienation, the risk of digital ethics and the risk of digital education governance. To avoid the risks brought by ChatGPT, we should strengthen independent research and development and improve the top-level design, identify the essence of technology and return to the essence of education, improve the digital literacy of teachers and students and move toward a harmonious and symbiotic human-computer interaction, and adhere to digital ethics and work together to build a better future.
